An old pub with wooden bistro stools

Nyree had fist visited the pub when she was still a student. Then she would come there with a group of friends every Friday afternoon, to talk abut the week spent at the university and other stuff. But that was the past. Now she was thirty-five years old, and she had come here for a completely different reason. She had arrived at the place to talk about Mark. He was her boyfriend... Or was he really? Well, in fact he had a wife, that was what she had discovered some time before. She found the old pub with old wooden bistro stools without problems. The place hadn"t changed at all. The walls were still covered in the old wallpaper and there was the strange statue of a cupid in the corner. And of curse, the old bistro stools had not been fixed at all. It looked as if the owner had taken it for granted that regular customers expected to see them broken, wobbly, or lacking the back. A bit unsure, she sat on one of the bistro stools and ordered a drink. Not too strong, of course, she needed to be sober during the conversation. She wondered what Mark"s wife looked like. And what kind of woman she was. She didn"t have to wait for long to find out. She heard a week ‘Excuse me" just behind her back and turned round to see Mary for the first time.
